4 A Day Picture Diary

Where? This stage is supposed to be the hardest day on the Camino Frances.

It feels like it, hope it is.

Not helped by scorchio temperatures pushing 30 degrees Celcius.

What: Walking.

Uphill.

All day.

We’ve ‘broken’ the traditional 25km and 1200m plus stage with a stop at Orisson.

Glad we did that or it might have broken us.

Who? Enjoy the picture of some local cattle.

I think they might be Pirenaica the Local breed. Will find out tonight if any cattle enthusiasts are interested.

We had to walk through a group of them on the path earlier. That was interesting, especially as a Pilgrim following had a lovely red shirt on.

Bad clothing choice if ever I’ve seen one. Always good to have a decoy sacrifice / offering / disposable member in any group I think.

Why? Baler twine. Turns out Basque Farmers love it as much as Welsh Farmers.

Used for a million and one things that aren’t baling straw and hay (although they do seem to be baling a lot of hay here).

Baler twine. One of life’s great utility tools.

Buen Camino (because we say that round these parts)

Epic view with looking back towards SJPDP, with an exhausted Pilgrim refusing to leave the water tap.
