Apologies. I’m a bit delayed in posting the Where, What, Who and Why 4 a day picture blog.
Yesterday was a bit longer than expected and very much warmer than either of us had hoped for.
So, morale in camp was at a low ebb last night.
I should make it clear, we are NOT camping. We stayed in a nice hotel, with a lift.
Hotel lifts have become a more important consideration than food and drink to be honest.
Anyway, here’s the 4 a day.

Where? On the famous Medieval bridge out of Puente La Reina.
One of many steep hump-back bridges you cross to the way to Estelle.
I was warned not to compare it to the bridge crossing the River Taff in Pontypridd.

What? Walking through the gorgeous Spanish countryside.
We are just staring to see more olive trees and grape vines.
There is a downside though.
Why are all the towns and villages on top of hills.
There’s a fair bit of up and down.

Who? Buen Camino to the older Spanish Gents who seem to fly past us on the path.
Carrying very little in rucksacks if anything at all. Some of them busily smoking cigarettes, some occasionally singing, but always generous with a Buen Camino.
Unlike lots of other Pilgrims you keep bumping into, you never see these old boys twice.
I wonder where they go?

Why?
I’ve mentioned previously that there’s a lot of curious graffiti (and stickers) along the Camino.
Here’s one that first asks Why? and then the realisation dawned.
“This must be what they mean when you get your second wind…”
Or maybe it’s just us?
Apologies.
More tomorrow.
PS. On the topic of graffiti, I’ve been following someone who writes motivational messages on stones. I think they went through about a month ago.
This one helped yesterday.
