I think I’ve fallen into a pattern for the 4 a day picture diary of our walk.

Starting with a view from the hotel window where we spent the night.

Where? Villamayor de Monjardin as the sun is rising over the local winery, Bodegas Castillo De Monjardin.

This is unfortunately a view over the working end of things at the Bodegas rear.

The front elevation is stunning – as are so many of the Bodegas we’ve passed.

Some very modern and brutalist design, but all very well done.

What? You guessed, walking.

The Camino apps warn you to fill up with water before the next stretch to Los Arcos as it is 12km of nothing but wheat fields.

No shade.

No water.

No snacks.

There was supposed to be a food truck at about 6km, but it was just an hallucination.

AI probably invented it.

Who? Me and SB did stop at the imaginary food truck stop though.

There were some trees, shade and benches for the daily roadside chiropody clinic.

To be fair to the imaginary food truck people (I assume it was them), they had left a cooler box of water for Peregrinos in need.

We didn’t partake.

Having carried 2kg of water 6km I was going to drink it!

Why? Why don’t we have snacks like this at home?

Lunch at the Camino Café in Los Arcos.

There’s a lot going on here.

SB was worried I’d gone full bushtucker trial and the one stick consisted of eels and an eyeball.

It wasn’t.

A bantam egg, anchovies, green peppers and an olive.

Sets you up for the next 8km!

Bonus Wonky Fish Picture. I’m getting quite attached to the Wonky Fish graffiti now.

They have become my friend, it says so.
