Camino de Santiago. Santo Domingo de la Calzada to Belarado.

Here’s the 4 a Day pics.

Who? Here’s SB leaving our posh accommodation in an old Friary.

It’s got a bit of a Jango Fett vibe I reckon.

What? Walking. It was a long one – in the heat – that came in at just shy of 23Km.

SB claims she was contracted to 21Km.

I’ll not comment further.

Other than to say it was a good job we’d checked into the accommodation online as neither of us could speak in a coherent manner at the end of the day.

The motivational graffiti helps (not really).

Where? We crossed over from Rioja to Castile & Leon.

A definite change in the landscape from vineyards to vast cereal and sunflower fields.

It’s looking pretty parched.

Why? Sunflower Art is a bit of a thing along the Camino.

How do people find the time?

I bet one day one of those ‘instagrammers’ will write a wedding proposal in sunflower heads. Lovely.

Bonus pics.

“Don’t try to be a superstar, try to be a supertramp” Saint Preux.

Turns out this is inspired by a 1974 album by French Artist Saint Preux.

*Note to self. Must read Autobiography of a Supertamp by W.H.Davies.

Also, an artsy view of some corn stubble.

Taken during a long rest whilst we renegotiate the walking contract to cover the last 1.5Km.
